The HexBox is a next-generation spirit communication tool, engineered by Ghostronics in the USA for serious paranormal investigators. Built with precision electronics and versatile functionality, it combines traditional radio scanning with modern digital features to deliver one of the most reliable and adaptable communication devices available.
Whether you’re scanning AM/FM frequencies, experimenting with reverb, or using custom wordbanks, the HexBox gives you control, clarity, and flexibility in the field. With a rechargeable battery, backlit LCD, and robust housing, it’s designed to perform during late-night investigations and extended sessions.
Features
- Automatic FM/AM Radio Sweep – Continuously scans frequencies for potential spirit communication.
- Adjustable Sweep Scanning – AM/FM sweep with 8 selectable speeds (50–400ms), scanning forwards or backwards.
- Multi-Mode Operation – Standard Sweep, Channel Hop, Channel Skip, Wordbank (MP3/WAV playback), and Bluetooth audio streaming.
- Integrated Reverb – Add atmospheric echo with 5 adjustable levels.

- Bluetooth Connectivity – Stream audio from ghost hunting apps directly through the HexBox speaker.
- Telescopic Antenna – Built-in extendable antenna for stronger reception and scanning range.
- Antenna Cutoff – Optional cutoff feature for isolating white noise and reducing external signals.
- Backlit LCD Display – Shows battery level, sweep speed, reverb, volume, station info, mode, and more.
- Audio Output – 3.5mm jack for headphones or external speakers.
- Rechargeable Power – Built-in BL-5C battery with USB-C charging and rear access for quick replacements.
- Loud Speaker – Clear, amplified output with high volume for group sessions.
Modes
The HexBox offers multiple operation modes, giving you full control over how you use it in the field. Switching modes is simple:
- Press the Mode button once to cycle through Standard Sweep, Channel Hop, and Channel Skip.
- Press and hold the Mode button to switch between Wordbank and Bluetooth modes.

Mode Breakdown:
- Standard Sweep – Continuously scans all AM/FM frequencies using your chosen sweep speed.
- Channel Hop – Jumps only between strong saved stations, cutting out the static.
- Channel Skip – Ignores saved stations and plays only the static/white noise between them.
- Wordbank Mode – Plays MP3 or WAV files randomly from a microSD card (under 3 seconds = full playback; longer files = random 3-second segments).
- Bluetooth Mode – Connect your phone via Bluetooth to stream audio from ghost hunting apps or other sources directly through the HexBox speaker.
Important
- Always fully extend the antenna before powering on the HexBox to ensure proper signal during initial scan.
- For Channel Hop mode, set the Sweep Rate to 400ms or higher.
How to Use the HexBox
Getting started with the HexBox is simple. Choose the mode you want to work with — whether that’s an AM/FM sweep, Wordbank playback, or Bluetooth — then set your sweep speed and adjust the reverb to suit your session. Once configured, place the HexBox in your chosen location, ask clear and direct questions, and listen carefully for relevant responses that break through the noise. Designed with ease of use in mind, it allows investigators to focus on the experience rather than the equipment.
How Does It Work?
The HexBox operates on the same core theory as a ghost box: that spirits may be able to manipulate audio fragments, white noise, or stored wordbanks to communicate. By rapidly scanning radio frequencies, skipping or hopping channels, or playing randomised word files, the HexBox provides a constant stream of audio fragments. Paranormal investigators believe that intelligent responses — words, names, or phrases relevant to questions asked — may come through by influencing these audio sources. With its precision electronics and advanced modes, the HexBox gives you a reliable and versatile tool to explore this form of communication.
Customisable Word Bank
The HexBox comes with a preloaded microSD card containing hundreds of spoken word audio files in MP3 format, ready to use straight out of the box. In Wordbank mode, the device plays these files at random — either in full if they are short, or in segments if they are longer — giving investigators another way to capture meaningful responses. For those who want to personalise their sessions, the card can be removed and replaced with your own content. Simply load MP3 or WAV files of your choice, organised in the root or in folders, and the HexBox will read them automatically. This flexibility allows you to experiment with different word sets, languages, or custom libraries, making your investigations more versatile and tailored to your style.
