The Ouija Board, otherwise known as an Ouija Board Game or an Ouija board, was created by Charles Kennard in the 1890s. Charles Kennard noticed the rising interest in the occult and paranormal entities, and wanted to invent a “Talking Table” which would encourage spirits to communicate with our world.

Kennard created a prototype of the board. The name supposedly came from his sister-in-law, who was a medium, and asked the board what it should be called. The board replied, “Ouija”. She asked what the word meant, and the board replied, “good luck”. As in – you’re going to need it.

What Does an Ouija Board Do?

How Does The Ouija Board Work?

The Ouija board was created as a way that families or friends could gather and communicate with the dead without soliciting the help of a medium or likewise. People at the time were desperate for methods to communicate with the dead that would be fast and effective. The Ouija board is an easy and relatively straightforward way you can communicate with the dead from within the comfort of your home.

It has been used for centuries for this purpose, but does not come without fair warning. The Ouija Board is used as a pointer for spirits to pick out words and phrases. It should not be considered a game or a joke, and can have serious repercussions and even destroy lives if not used correctly.

How To Use an Ouija Board?

Traditionally, during a séance (a session where you attempt to communicate with spirits) participants all place their fingers on the planchette.

The idea is that paranormal entities will be able to communicate with you through moving your hands which are on the planchette, spelling out words or heading to the “yes” or “no” pointers on the board depending on questions you ask.

The board contains yes and no sections, letters and also numbers. This leaves the opportunity to ask the spirits a number of questions, including open-ended questions.
